Dear Mr and Mrs Columbus,
My sincere apologies for the very late arrival home of your son Christopher
following our school outing yesterday to the Genoa Country Park.
The cause of our delayed departure was, I am afraid, Christopher himself.
After lunch, all pupils were distributed with maps of the area and then allowed
to explore. it took a search party three hours to locate Christopher after he
got lost and failed to return at the appointed time.
I think it might be best, Mr and Mrs Columbus, if Christopher does not go on
future outings of this type. He is an enthusiastic lad, but has absolutely no
sense of direction.
